Photohunt- Party

In the office, if you see a team wearing the same color of shirt, it means that there could be an occasion or a color coded party! We had our supposedly monthly general assembly and our team decided to be in white.

One could be out of placed or be the star if he will not wear the decided color. You be the judge!

I miss those small parties. we need it very much because it serves as a stress reliever and a time when we can play around even in shots like this! Pretty funny, huh!

And of course, food and drinks are always present in a party. That is the most enjoyable part- free meal! Thanks to our supervisors!

Head or Tails- Wonder

The first thing that came into my mind for this week's theme is Wonder Woman. Oh, it has been my favorite show when I was 7 years old! To think that I was not yet good in the English Language yet during that time since I just started going to school.

Wonder Woman will always be my favorite and I hope there will be a remake of shows like this.

WS- A Movie Blockbuster?

No, it is not a movie blockbuster! But, of course, the biggest blockbuster should really be the mass, being with Him for just an hour! The mass was held in one of the theaters in this mall. Yes, guilty as I am, I go to the malls to hear mass. The invited priest somehow mentioned that it is not really right because it is not really a church. He still encourages the people to go to a real church to have a time with God.

What are the reasons why people go to the malls to hear mass? It is more convenient with the air conditioning. More quiet maybe . Most of all, after the mass, one can continue malling for shopping and eating.

I think, it is also a marketing strategy for the malls to hold masses. But of course, I still consider that it could be the owner's way of devotion.

Where did my readers go?

I was very happy when I first installed my feed burner widget. It said that I have 16 readers! Wow, that was big for me because I really appreciate everyone who takes a peek on this humble blog of mine. But,now, it only says 6! Where could they have gone?

I am guilty of not being able to post lately. Well, things came up and let us just say that those took my time. But, I hope I can get some inspiration again. I owe it to every visitor here to at least learn something or at least be entertained.

Please come back!

Thursday Thirteen- 13 Reasons Why You Should Eat Banana

THIRTEEN REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD EAT BANANA

1. Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana.
This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier.

2. PMS: Forget the pills - eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood.(hmmmm....I'll eat banana now)

3. Anaemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of haemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anaemia.

4. Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect remedy to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex)
school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert.

5. Constipation: High in fibre, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives.

6. Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system.

7. Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief.

8. Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness.

10. Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation.

11. Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system.

12. Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and crisps.
Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady

13. Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach.

Other Uses:

Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature.

Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan.

Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack.

Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine," eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%!

Warts: Those keen on natural alternatives swear that if you want to kill off a wart, take a piece of banana skin and place it on the wart, with the yellow side out.
Carefully hold the skin in place with a plaster or surgical tape!

So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills.
When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrate, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods

Wordless Wednesday- Mother and child

June Lozada: Let me be the Spark

Let me be the change that I want to see
And the hope that I can be
I might not be the light
But let me be the spark…

That is part of June Lozada’s prayer when he decided to finally stand as witness to the controversial ZTE deal. It was shared a while ago during the mass held at La Salle Greenhills gymnasium. It was attended by the popular personalities who oppose the present administration.

Last night, ABS CBN also had a special titled “Harapan” in English, Face to Face. The start witness stood firm by his statements in spite of three or four who ganged up against him. It was a good show which ended past midnight.

So, what now, Filipinos? What do you really want?

As I observed, every President in the Philippines had went through the same situation right now.

I still believe that every politician in this country has his own share of anomaly.
Different plays, different tricks. All are the same.

The bigger argument is who will replace the present President if ousted?

Thirteen Things I Observed During Hard Times

Thirteen Things I Observed During Hard Times

  1. Empty cupboards
  2. Bills keep on piling up.
  3. Same meals
  4. Staying inside the house.
  5. People become irritable
  6. You would rather sleep
  7. You do not like to talk
  8. Hoping for days to run fast
  9. You turn off your cell phone
  10. You lose some friends
  11. You get thin
  12. You look haggard
  13. You do not like to spend even a single centavo

I am experiencing all of the above right now except for #11 though that is the thing that I would like to happen. Blessings will still come on our way even if we experience hard times.

Cheer up! Today is Heart's Day! Have a great one! The people you love and who truly loves you in return is what's more important!

Heads or Tails- Love

Happy Heart's Day to all!
Let me share this simple poem I wrote when I was 11 years old.
Yeah, I composed this for my crush. You know, those puppy loves we had when we were younger. Too bad not all of them knew. He,he...

If you love me
I will love you too
If you hate me
I will not be angry at you
But it is better for you to love me
So that I can show you
How much I love you
And how I can truly take care of you.

Ouster of JDV: Blood is thicker than water

It is the controversial ZTE deal that started it all. According to the lovely GDV, no parent will teach his son to tell a lie. So, if you read between the lines, the younger De Venecia’s testimony against FG has the blessings of his father.

It is the normal reaction of FG’s two sons who happen to be both congressmen to sort of retaliate? We tend to fight for our loved ones whether he or she might be right or wrong. It is a Filipino trait. Kapamilya nga di ba? At Kapuso na rin. So, it is really blood thicker than water. Labanan ng dalawang Pamilya na di magpapatalo sa isa’t isa.

I was able to watch a few minutes of JDV’s speech at Congress. He was just short of directly saying that his former “friend” is an ingrate and power greedy. He mentioned one by one all the things that he had done so that his friend would reach her post right now.

It is only two years away. Everybody seemed tired of waiting.

Wipe off those credit card bills

Wipe off those credit card bills. Financial health status can also affect physical health. Of course, we use money to buy food.LOL! Kidding aside, people who are in financial distress form certain anxieties. There are sleepless nights. It can also result to depression.Worst, others who cannot take it anymore got sick. There are actually lots of worst scenarios because of unhealthy financial status. So, what to do when already in that situation? Start wiping them off. One example is getting indebted because of misuse of credit cards. As I always say, hey using that plastic seems free but no! You have to pay for it! There is no point looking at the past. Address the present situation. Most importantly learn your lesson. Be financially healthy again!

Opening the envelopes

Oh, how afraid I was to open you
But, I cannot contain it anymore
To open or not to open?
I've got to face the fear
I know what to expect
It will just be a confirmation
Yes, I will open you...
You have caused me so much stress
I will not let you control me anymore
I've got to face you
Now, not tomorrow...

My Number One Critic

When we go to a party, he would say what dress I have to wear

How to carry my hair

The right shades for my face

He would tell me, you have to go to the powder room now

Your face is already oily

Oh, how fat you have become

Put some lotion, your skin is dry

All simple things, does it hurt?

He would say I talk loud

I am lazy

Does not know how to take care of our son

Oh, sometimes, it hurts.

But do you know that all of the above things are said lovingly?

I know it is for my own good.

He wants me to look nice.

He does not want me to be criticized by others.

Because, if that happens…he just does not know what he could be capable of doing

Just to stand by my side

And comfort me, and convince me

I am the best in his eyes.

Manic Monday

Manic Monday Logo

Is there anything to serious to joke about? If so, what falls into that category for you?

Maybe when you are already mad at someone and you cannot take him anymore...just joke about it rather than being affected.

Would you rather be a tortured genius or a happy simple-minded person? Why?

Just be happy and simple.

A dear friend or family member has a terminal illness and is in agony. He/she wants you to help him/her die. What would you do?

Definitely not.

Mica08: a meme blog?

Mica08:a meme blog?I have noticed that i have not written much these days. Well,i was busy. But,i have been joining memes. They are sort of personal posts anyway. Wordless wednesday is always a challenge because i would like to post pictures that tell a story. Thursday thirteen is more, having to think about 13 things. Yeah, sometimes it is hard. Of course, the other photo memes that i like are weekend snapshot and photo hunt. So, is this blog just a meme blog? Photo Scavenger's Hunt # 2 = narrow

This is the very narrow staircase of our neighbor. They have two of this. One at their kitchen area going to their maid's room and one somewhere at their living room, going to their bedroom. I guess, it saved some space. I was telling my husband for us to have that kind of stairway also but he said I might not fit, LOL! Yeah, it is really narrow and steep too! I have to settle for the wooden one.
