How Time Flies

How time flies. It is Sunday once again and April is about to end in three days. It is just like New Year’s Eve yesterday but now, midyear is here in two months time. I have not been really running with the clock. I would like to do many things but they are just inside my mind and not yet put into action. I always wanted to start but not able to. I do not know what is hindering me. I have to go back at that list and hopefully will see a check mark at even one of them.

Thoughts on Word Verifications

What are your thoughts about word verifications? I was able to read an article or sort of a message at the side bar of one blogger telling about how to attract comments and one of them is removing the word verification option before a blogger can place a comment. I totally agree. I must admit that I do not like word verifications, especially if I did not get it right and I have to write a new one. I do not like writing my e-mail address also. I understand the security reasons to avoid spam but I think that I will be able to visit more bloggers if I do not have to write word verifications and e-mail add anymore.

Ask and you shall receive. This is one of my favorite verses in the Bible. I apologize that I do not now where it came from. I think it is from Matthew? Anyways, this is very true for me this morning when I woke up and said my prayers. I asked God for something and He gave it to me eventually. God is good all the time! He also provides us with the things we need. I have written in the past posts that we are going through the rough roads lately but I do not have the right to complain at all. We are surviving and that is with His Great Love and Mercy.

Heads or Tails- Tip

I would like to share a story about giving tips, like tip for a waiter, for a taxi driver or anything you give tips to. By the way, do you give tips?

Before my story, is it true that in Canada, it is mandatory to give tips? How about in US?

I give tips and very generous about it when I was still single. But now that I have a family of my own, I am somehow not much into it already. Anyways, I have nothing against about giving tips because my sister once worked for a restaurant and a part of their earnings come from tips.

I think giving tips should be voluntary.

So, here is my story…Are you thinking that it will not come? LOL! Actually, I sort of forgot about it...He, he.

It was a day before our payday, you know what that means, right? I was almost broke and what’s left in my budget was only what to spend for the next day like transportation and lunch. The bank opens at 1pm. It was actually our salary to be credited by 1pm. So, we were about to go home and being in the night shift, it meant that we had to rush to be able to catch the last Metro Train ride. There were no jeepneys passing by so we decided to take a cab. The MRT station is actually a 3- 5 minute walk from our office so you can imagine how near it is. But, it was already 935PM and the last trip is 937PM. So, the cab driver put the meter down and it read P30.00. It was not moving until we reached the station, then it read P32.50. I was happy because I had an exact amount (almost) of P33.00. Therefore, I paid him P33.00 and he said that I should pay P40.00. But, I do not have any coins anymore. What I had was a hundred bucks. So, I pleaded and told him to consider it next time because our money was just enough for the exact fare. He mumbled that we should have taken a tricycle instead. My companion said that I should had obliged and paid P40. I did not know what came to me but I was just not in the mood to give a tip that day.

I am so excited

I am so excited and I just cannot hide it. Tomorrow is the day and I just love it. I am getting thin, getting thin, fats, goodbye to you. Hey, are you actually thinking that I am writing a song? I must admit that I am singing while writing the excitement that I am feeling for tomorrow. It is the start of the weight loss program drive in our office. And, I am one of the participants. I actually should not be proud of it because it only means that I am not that healthy but still I am happy to be part of it. I will mark it as the day that I will actually decide or have decided to let go of the extra pounds that have been with me for almost five years now! No, I will not miss them!

The Manipulative Child

Do you spank your child? They say that in the US, it is taboo to hurt a child or else a policeman will arrest you. Is it true? But, they say that it is Biblical to apply that rod. There are many books about child psychology and I am sure every parent would want to follow all the do’s and don’ts written there.

I also have a child and as the days go by, I realized that it is a hard task. Disciplining, incorporating good values, making him feel loved, feeding him. Bringing up a good person in this world would really be the greatest success of a parent.

Children have this manipulative sense of being. One of their weapons is their loud crying! They love to dare also. You would know that you lose when a slipper or a belt fly away and touches your child’s buttocks. I lost today. Now, I do not know how to face that defeat. Who will say sorry or first to say hello again? I want to play strong or else, I will just let him think that indeed, he has the power over me.

Headache

It was already 7pm and I think I am heaving a terrible headache. Is it my migraine attacking again? Oh, well, I just had my RED visit and usually it attacks during PMS and not after! Oh, could it be that I was just hungry? Correct, I have not eaten a decent meal for the day trying to do a crash diet? It can’t be done anymore just like in my younger years, I guess. LOL! So, I grab a cup and made chocolate oatmeal. Thanks to our vendo machine that has lots of Milo in it. I keep a can of Quaker Oats at my desk…err, pedestal.Ha, ha! Yes, I keep one at my desk but I do hide it at the pedestal when the office admin officer roams around. No eating at posts!

Besides hormonal changes, what could be the cause of migraine?

Gluttony

Gluttony, one of the mortal sins or should I say deadly? Literally speaking. I experienced its cause yesterday. I thought I will just collapse and be out of breath. I feasted with too much food until I do not feel discomfort nor was I just testing my limit? Oh, those 10-12 pizza slices in one sitting days are long gone. Yes, I cannot do that anymore. I should not commit gluttony anymore. I always tell that to myself but whenever a buffet table is in front of me, I cannot help but dig in. Just like yesterday. It was free meals at the training. Not just packed lunch but food overflowing.4 main courses of beef, pork, seafoods and chicken. To balance the meal, there were buttered vegetables, salad bar, fresh fruits. For dessert, there were carrot and chocolate cake. Iced tea was also served to push what I had taken in for more room. Imagine that! Thank you to one of our colleagues to leave the fellowship part of the program. That meant being saved from another pigging bout.But that was only because we were to attend the birthday celebration f our dear friend. Food and more food. I can still proudly say that I missed eating two favorite dishes because I had over eaten already from morning to evening. It was payback time when I was on my way home. I really felt all the deadly threats of gluttony. I even thought of death and the news that will come out. What was the cause of death? Overeating! In Filipino, katakawan.Ugly.Real ugly.

How time runs really fast. Two days are almost gone. I only have less than 5 hours and I will be out of the house again. Yes, I am going back to the office after two days rest.
