Weekend Snapshot- Dessert!

Dessert,anyone? Healthy or not? You can see some fruits like watermelon (my favorite!), pineapple, melon, and papaya.Then there is pudding with milk and cake! Hmnnn.Yummy! That is what you get when you go for eat all you can restos...even if you do not usually eat much dessert as you usually do, you will get as many to get your money's worth. Am I right or am I wrong?

By the way, I missed it last week. I saw it today that I am one of the featured blogs last week but I was not able to join. There was no power because of the typhoon Frank.

Allergic to office

Oh, how bad the cough could be that it is because of being allergic to the office? I always tell my officemates that I am seemed allergic to dust. Well, the carpet flooring in our building is already 6-7 years old! Really! Even though those are being cleaned from time to time, I think that they have to be replaced already. I have been coughing like a dog for the past week and it is really uncomfortable. When I am at home, I do not experience the same thing.Hmmmnnn…Allergic to office? Nah! I do not want a vacation! Change the carpets!

Widen your horizons

Almost IT engineers in the company that I am working for have resigned and went abroad a few years ago. My friend’s husband is one of them. She told us how much higher the IT professional are getting in other countries. That is why, her husband continues to purchase books, study online, and attend seminars. When you are in the information technology field, there is always something new. You can never be left behind or else, someone better can always replace you.

My friend, together with their daughter joined her husband already. They have been traveling from one country to another because offers that come in are on project basis. Their goal though is to stay in United States for good. That is why, to go with the competition, his hubby is thinking of getting a Cisco certification. That way, he will be able to know what level he is in and what improvements are to be done. His horizons will really be widened because of the so many certification programs available at Cisco. If he wants to become a specialist in telecommunication technology such as IP telephony and wireless, it is available too.Only the best training programs are available.

There are really limitless possibilities in Information Technology. I can say that it is an IT world nowadays and even in the future. Everything can be computerized at present and it will be more sophisticated in the future, I am sure of that! So, if you would like a new career path, go to this field and you can never go wrong. Fruit of e-vat

The Arroyo administration is giving out P500 aid to all Filipino households whose electric consumption is not more than 1000 watts for the month of May 2008.

The move raised some eyebrows but for those at the end of the social ladder, a P 500 is a P500 and that would mean more than 25 kilos of NFA rice or a 5 day food budget. The timing was even before the school day opened last June 12, 2008. Thus, the P500 aid for the ever continually getting higher electric bill was used for other things also.

I just want to raise a question. Everyone paid for the e-vat, why are those with low consumption being rewarded and those that are paying higher are taken for granted? Is that a punishment for living a more comfortable life or a lesson to minimize electrical usage if you can as others can?

All of my nephews love online games. How about my son? He does too! Our computer’s memory is mainly loaded with those games! One of them loves adventures so I will introduce him to Dungeon Runners. A working mother’s dilemma

Work or home? Home or work? Quality time with family or working overtime to earn more money? I think that is the working mother’s dilemma. I am experiencing it right now. It is hard to be in that situation. Sometimes, I even wish that there is more of me…literally,lol!

I really would like to budget my time and if possible be able to balance everything. But, really, one has to take the back seat at any given time. As they say, you cannot serve two masters.

Be certified!

Information technology is no doubt the “in” thing nowadays. Why not? There is a great demand for IT professionals in all fields whether in telecommunication industry, entertainment, gaming, Industrial field, accounting, and so many others. Even in our office, those who are in the IT department get the highest compensation.

Almost every person would like to take IT now. Even those who have already finished schooling in another field would like to take it as a second course. Would you believe that we have a nursing graduate in the office who is now one of the Senior Supervisors in our IT department? She is more successful and enjoying the IT job. I wonder where she took her IT training. Education is always of utmost importance. How can you tell the difference? Would you just plunge in to any IT school? Going to a reputable one and holding the highest integrity would be the best decision. If you are ready to take a new career path just like so many other people who are already successful in this profession, get ready, study to become an IT and become certified! You might want to go to the Cisco Learning Network’s Certification Center.

You might ask, why the need for Cisco certification? Let us face it. What you know today might not be needed tomorrow. That is why continuous learning and training should be done. Remember that technology is fast. With increasing innovations, nothing is really fixed. Who would not want that?

The lonely passenger

It was time to go home. Past nine PM already and almost no more motorists in the road. Passengers of public transportation were only few. Oh, a lonely night! I rode the jeepney. At first, we were two, and then my only supposed companion alighted already. It was still around five minutes before my stop. The cold was air as it touched my face…too bad with some dust. It aggravated my allergic cough. All throughout the journey, my barking served as the music inside that jeepney that happened to be no stereo unlike most public vehicles in Metro Manila that makes the roads quite noisy. Finally, I reached my destination. Oh, it was actually for another ride. Luckily, the jeep was full. It was not completely lonely after all.

Filipinos love to sing

ABS CBN channel two marketed on the Filipinos' love for singing thru the contest The Singing Bee. The catch of the show is as long as you know the lyrics, even though you are out of tune. Very true for mos Filipinos...including me? Lol! Well, I can sing in choir but I am not a very good soloist. My husband would totally agree.

Ces Drilon is Free

I heard from my office mate ten or eleven days ago that the famous journalist Ces Drilon was taken captive by the Abbu Sayyaf. The phrase means bearer of swords in Arabic. In the Philippines though, this group bears big guns. They say though that they have a purpose or something they believe in is of Divine will. Would you believe that the recently released Ms. Ces Drilon also believes in their advocacy in spite of the hardships that she encountered at their hands?

Well, I am not here to judge anyone. But, one thing sure, I will not be anywhere in Sulu or in Mindanao areas in the next years or even decades to come. I will not let any member of my family too. Better be scared and safe.

I always believe that our spiritual lives should also be given attention and nurtured. We can do it everyday by our usual one hour devotion or during our Sunday masses. This photo was taken at Baluarte in Ilocos. This is owned by one of the famous names in the Philippines, the Singsons. Almost all of the animals there are free interacting with the visitors. This one really caught my attention. What a poised walk, don't you think? I think she should be my model.

Riding a motorcyle

Nobody would like to encounter an accident at the streets. It is helpful if you have insurance but still the hassle of encountering one is really eventful. In most cases, there are vehicular crashes that involve cars, trucks, and motorcycles.

My husband is a rider. His motorcycle is not that big though. It can even qualify as a scooter. Nevertheless, all types of motorcycles are already visible in the streets these days. No matter how careful the driver maybe, it seems that most of the time, they cannot be seen or taken for granted. With the advent of home theaters, more people now prefer to watch movies at home. Why not? It is more comfortable and you can watch your favorite films at your most convenient time. If you want to repeat a scene, you can do so by pressing the rewind button of your remote control. Because of this, it pays to become a member of a movie club. I am sure that many of you are members of a book club, right? This time, why not try a movie club, particularly the Disney Movie Club.

Who would not like to watch the Disney classics repeatedly? A good form of entertainment. Whenever you have guests, you can let them watch a film or two. A good sleepover activity for your kids and their friends too. And, of course, giving away Disney DVDs as gifts is a good idea. Having a collection of these is a welcome thought for everyone. Before going to sleep, the facilitator said that it only takes less than 2 mins to do those three. True? I must admit that I am not in the habit of cleaning my face before going to bed. Yes, I am lazy to do that. Congratulate me now that I am on my eight day of doing CTM. How about you?

Weekend Snapshot- Clear road

This is how the road looks specifically at our area during weekends. That is why I love going to the office during Saturdays and Sundays. No traffic. The usual 45 mins to one hour travel will be trimmed down to 30 mins.So, even though there are no malls to go to, a park or a resort… this is a nice weekend after all.

Fun with Pants' Life

We all have our favorite jeans, right? How many times a week do you wear that? I have my favorite pair of jeans. I use it at least twice a week. I love wearing it because it is comfortable and the fit is just right. I wonder if my pants could talk what she might be saying to me. Maybe it will tell me about what she might be feeling when I ride a jeep or as I walk at the streets.Lol!

Come to think of it, we have been watching animals and/or plants talk in movies, television or in videos. Why not make your pants talk? Oh, by the way, you might ask what the brand of my pants is. Which one is comfortable, trendy, affordable and durable? Yes, Dockers!

Going back, my pants might say, “Oh, come and wear me again. Let us travel together.”, as I wear my favorite jeans going to the office during weekends. Since I am getting bigger and I will try to put them in, my pants might react and will say,” Uh, oh…be careful. Or, maybe you should try dieting!” Oh, am I making my pants’ life too hard? Quite fun, huh! You could actually make a video of something like this and who knows you might even win at Dockers contest.

Life is a matter of priority

Do you know why the words need and want are existing? Because, life is a matter of priority. There are many things that we want but do we really need them?

Today, we went to enroll our child who will be going to formal schooling for the first time. We can actually pay for the monthly scheme but then again, we already have the money to pay for the whole year tuition fee. Therefore, we decided to pay in full and bought the books and uniforms.

Actually, we were about to go to mall today but we do not have the money anymore. Well, at least we do not have anything to worry about for the whole semester.

Movie for all

Who does not love anime? It is not only for kids but for adults too! We all love to have super powers right? Moreover, as we are powerful, we would like to defeat evil and make a beautiful and peaceful world. I, myself would like to be a hero! Maybe I would like to be called Mother Power or the source of all good powers. I can do anything. Fly, run fast, become invisible, a good fighter, and many others.
